Privacy Notice

This notice explains how personal data is handled when you visit tahiralaybeyi.com. It is prepared under Article 10 of Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK") and is written to be equally usable by visitors covered by the EU GDPR.

This is an information notice, not a consent form. Under the Turkish Data Protection Board's principle decision no. 2026/347 of 18 February 2026, the duty to inform and the collection of explicit consent must be kept separate — so they are separate here.

1. Data controller

This site is operated by Tahir Alaybeyi as an individual portfolio.

2. What is collected, and how

This site has no contact form, no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising or tracking scripts. It sets no cookies of its own and keeps no record identifying you.

Personal data is processed in only two situations:

a) When you email me. If you use the email link on the site, whatever you send — your name, email address, and the content of your message — arrives in my inbox. You provide this directly and on your own initiative.

b) When you press play on a video or track. The portfolio media does not load until you press play. At that moment the relevant platform (YouTube or SoundCloud) receives your IP address and device/browser information and may set cookies in your browser. See the Cookie Policy for details.

Loading the page contacts no third party at all. Everything the site needs, including its fonts, is served from its own domain.

3. Purposes and legal basis

Data Purpose Legal basis
Email content, name, email address Responding to enquiries and carrying on the resulting correspondence KVKK Art. 5/2-(c) and 5/2-(f) — necessity for a contract and legitimate interest / GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f)
Data sent to the platform on playback Delivering the media you asked to see or hear KVKK Art. 5/1 explicit consent (your press of the play button) / GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)

Your data is not used for marketing, profiling, automated decision-making, or sale to third parties.

4. Transfers outside Turkey / the EEA

If you choose to play a video or track, the connection is made to servers outside Turkey — Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC for YouTube, and SoundCloud Global Limited & Co. KG for SoundCloud — and your data is transferred accordingly.

Under KVKK Article 9, as amended with effect from 1 June 2024, this is an incidental transfer made solely at your own request, with your explicit consent as its legal basis. No transfer occurs unless and until you press play.

5. Retention

Anything you send by email is kept while the correspondence remains relevant, and deleted on request. Data passed to YouTube or SoundCloud during playback is governed by those platforms' own retention policies, not mine.

6. Your rights

Under KVKK Article 11 you may ask me to:

  • confirm whether your personal data is being processed;
  • provide information about that processing;
  • explain the purpose of processing and whether the data is used accordingly;
  • identify any third parties, in Turkey or abroad, to whom the data has been transferred;
  • correct data that is incomplete or inaccurate;
  • erase or destroy data under the conditions in Article 7;
  • notify third parties of any correction or erasure;
  • object to a decision produced solely by automated analysis that has an adverse effect on you;
  • compensate you for damage caused by unlawful processing.

If the GDPR applies to you, you additionally have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

7. How to exercise them

Send your request to mtahiralaybeyi@gmail.com. It will be answered free of charge, within thirty days at the latest, depending on the nature of the request.

8. Changes

This notice is updated when needed. The current version is always the one published here, and the date above shows when it last changed.
